Fees
Starting therapy means making room for something that matters to you. It helps to know what it costs before you begin.
A session is 50 minutes and costs $220. With a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, Medicare rebates $149.05, so the gap is $70.95. The plan covers up to 10 sessions in a calendar year.

Medicare
To claim the rebate you need a Mental Health Care Plan and a referral from your GP. Tell your GP a little about what's been happening and that you'd like to see a psychologist. It's a routine request, and you don't need to have it all worked out first.
Your GP can send the plan through, or you can bring it with you. You pay the full fee on the day, and the rebate usually lands back in your account within a day or two.
After six sessions, I send your GP a short update so the remaining four can be approved.
Without a referral
You don't need a referral to book. Some people prefer to start first and see their GP later, and that's fine. Without a plan the full fee applies.
Private health insurance
Some extras policies cover psychology, and your fund can tell you how much. You can't claim Medicare and private health for the same session.
Sessions
We can meet in person on Spencer Street in West Melbourne, or online if that's easier. Online sessions are available anywhere in Victoria, cost the same and attract the same rebate.
Payment is by card at the end of the session.
Cancellations
Life happens. If you need to cancel, let me know as early as you can. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged the full fee.
